LOCKDOWN

St. Andrew’s is currently open for Worship on a Sunday. This will be reviewed every week in relation to the risk. We ask that anyone attending respects the government requirements to be as careful as you can about social distancing and not mixing with anyone outside of your support bubble. Anyone at high risk is recommended to stay at home and contact the Church Office about alternative provision. Face masks are required and to keep a distance of 2 metres apart from people you do not live with. Please avoid mixing with people before and after the Service. We have decided to suspend the mid- week Service for the time being. The Church is not open for prayer during the week. Funeral Services can still take place in Church with a maximum of 30 in attendance.
There is a debate as you would expect as to what is safe. It is felt that the regular practice of our faith can sustain us through a difficult time. It is a vital part of our wellbeing to worship God in the company of others. Many of our usual Church activities have been suspended leaving only the Sunday worship itself. Even this has been modified to be as safe as possible. There is the hope that the vaccination programme will provide a way out of lockdown to allow a return to a normal life. This will take time. For the moment we take comfort at this Epiphanytide that hope brings light. Anything which brings sparkle, cheer and joy into our lives at the moment is to be welcomed.
